Fashion store in Stuttgart

Coloured light still noticeable: a lightning concept for a fashion store in Stuttgart

A popular Japanese fashion label relies on the light in brilliant and expressive colours for the lighting of its store on Stuttgart's Königsstrasse. Because we know our way around the specified luminaires from Osram and are also system partners for Traxon, we implemented the lighting in line with the company's CI. After finely tuned lighting, the first three floors of the corner building now shine in coloured light – the effect is fantastic, because this type of lighting truly stands out from the crowd.

The Japanese fashion brand has been producing universal clothing since the mid-1980s, fashion that "cannot be divided into categories and unites all social groups", is how the company describes itself. The fourth shop in Germany – in addition to three locations in Berlin – was opened in Stuttgart at the beginning of November 2016. The store is located almost in the middle of Stuttgart's 1200m long main shopping street – amid countless other shops.

Extremely slim and unbelievably efficient: Traxon nano liner

To really set the brand off and set it apart from the rest of the shopping mile's architecture, the continuous window front on the ground floor and the 1st and 2nd floors is fitted with a total of 184 luminaires of the nano liner type from Traxon Technologies, a brand of Osram. We as Osram's system partner are familiar with the nano liners: this extremely slim, linear lighting system with high output and great energy efficiency was recommended for use in the shop windows because of its slim shape. The aim was to provide homogeneous illumination of the rear surfaces – the nano liner can be aligned sensitively for this purpose and emits brilliant light right up to the ceiling via high-quality LEDs. The slim design also allowed the use in the partially cramped space conditions of the windows. Advantages for the installing company: the simple installation and commissioning via plug and play and the electrician-friendly cabling of 5*1.5 mm 2.

An e:cue remote makes lots of ideas possible

Connected in series and controlled by e:cue via LAS programming, not only the desired colour gradients but also completely new ideas could be realised. The back walls of the shop windows now seem to shine out by themselves and create an exciting background for mannequins and products – perfectly staged by the light, which attracts attention from afar and can also unfold its effect in daylight.
